CAROLINA FARM STEWARDSHIP ASSOCIATION EASTERN TRIANGLE FARM TOUR

SEPTEMBER 17-18, 2011 from 1-5:00 pm
Join us at Turtle Mist Farm for a day of fun & exploration on a working farm
in Franklinton, NC. Farmers Bob & Ginger Sykes converted this horse
boarding & bull riding facility to a small family farm raising animals &
produce in sustainable, humane ways. They raise hair sheep, pastured
Gelbvieh beef cattle, heritage turkeys, Muscovy duck, free-range laying hens,
quail & Berkshire hogs. There are many other animals that share life on the
farm. The vegetable gardens use a variety of unique growing methods. The
greenhouse has an aquaponics garden in development.
Tours (Guided & Self-Guided) - Guests are welcome to take a self-guided walking tour of the farm or a guided hay ride tour with one of the farmers.
